Bifacial Solar Panels

A bifacial solar cell is a photovoltaic solar cell that can produce electrical energy when illuminated on both its surfaces, front or rear. Instead, monofacial solar cells only produce electrical energy when photons impinge on their front side. The bifacial cell has two sides—a front side and a back side—and it can be made out of any material that can be made into a semiconductor with the appropriate band gap.
